    Fundraising Dog Walk

    Posted In

On Sunday morning, 28th October 2018 at Boultham Park at the invitation of Linkage, a gentle stroll with dogs and family, ending with a nice coffee and scrumptious cake was the background for local charity Adults Supporting Adults (ASA) to celebrate a generous donation of a London theatre holiday from ‘Give them a Sporting Chance’ a national charity whose patron is Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal.

ASA had supported local lady Christine Parkinson for 33 years who lived with Shared Lives Providers Kevin and Elaine Stopper.  Before her illness Christine loved to walk around Boultham Park and a dog walk in her memory seemed a fitting way to celebrate her life and recognise Give them a Sporting Chance’s generous donation of a holiday to the family in recognition of the support and dedication that the family had offered to Christine to allow her to die peacefully at home with her friends and family around her.

The Give Them a Sporting Chance charity offers these opportunities as a thank you for individuals families that have gone the extra mile in return the Charity asks that the recipient to raise money for another Charity.  ASA arranged the event with proceeds of £200 being passed to Linkage Trust to support those in need.
