We fount out about this service through the Alzheimer’s society, we rang ASA who passed us on to Sandi at the Louth office.
Sandi came to visit us a complete a referral form and explain about the costs and invoicing process. She also explained about ASA’s registration with CQC and the training and supervision Providers undertake, this reassured us so we decided to give it a try. The paper work seemed like a bit of a nuisance but we were reassured that this was necessary to ensure a safe supportive service for Jean.
After a week or so Sandi brought Jackie the lady identified to Sit with Jean around for a cup of tea, we all sat down and had a chat, although Jean was a bit anxious about being left with Jackie she agreed to give it a go.
We are now four months down the line using the service regularly, we feel that we have both benefited from the service, it has enabled us to have a break from each other Jean has made a new acquaintance who is patient and kind and Roy as the main carer to have a much needed break from the carer role and also return to accessing his hobby, attending family events and even to be able to do some decorating.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the ASA Sit 2 Gether service to any of our friends and associates.
